About MDataWorks
BMW M vehicle intelligence built on real expertise - not generic data reselling.
The Story
Enthusiast Built, for the Community
MDataWorks was founded on a simple idea: buyers and enthusiasts of BMW M cars deserve access to the same level of production intelligence that was previously only available to specialists. For years, the BMW M community has been let down by generic vehicle checks that miss the detail that really matters.
With decades of experience in BMW M production data, VIN analysis, and vehicle identification, MDataWorks was built from the ground up to fill that gap. Every data source, every algorithm, and every report section has been designed specifically around BMW M models - because that's what we know.
Our investigation work - exposing cloned cars and mileage-manipulated vehicles - is just one part of a much longer story. Over many years, thousands of posts have been contributed to the BMW M community across BimmerPost, M3Cutters, and countless M model-specific Facebook groups - answering questions, providing detailed production statistics, giving buying advice, and helping enthusiasts make informed decisions. That accumulated knowledge and those community relationships are the foundation on which MDataWorks was built.
The data intelligence behind MDataWorks is built on decades of professional experience in data architecture and analytics, working across financial services. The ability to integrate and reconcile data from multiple independent sources - each with their own formats, quirks, and limitations - and draw reliable conclusions from the combined picture, is a discipline that transfers directly to vehicle intelligence. That same rigour underpins every MDataWorks Vehicle Report.

A note on independence
MDataWorks is wholly independent. We have no commercial relationship with any vehicle manufacturer, auction house, or data reseller. Our analysis is objective and our findings are evidence-based - we take pride in the quality and integrity of every report we produce.
